I saw this on TV the other day and liked it. It is very clever. Now what about some new movies from Wes?

Yes he does. Wes Anderson is amazing but he needs to pick up the pace, and make some more films.

Well, the last one he did came out in 2004, and the one before that was in 2001. That's not unusual at all, especially for someone who co-writes his own scripts. They can't all be Woody Allen and crank out a movie almost every year.

Now, Paul Thomas Anderson, that guy needs to get on the ball.

I saw this at the theater last weekend and thought it was quite amusing. My mom asked me, "What in the hell was that?" But it did solicit a chuckle from her.

Great commercial, kind of suprising they chose Wes Anderson, I doubt the average tv viewer doesnt have a clue who he is.

Don't mean to hijack but has anyone see the M Night commecial he did for AmEx that was supposed to show during the academy awards? From the previews I saw, it looked pretty good, but must have missed it that night and haven't seen it since.

But yes, Wes' commercial was great. Really reminded me of Rushmore more than any of this other films.

eta
nevermind, found it.

I've read that the movie Wes is working on right now is an all stop-motion animation film similar in style to the stuff he did with the sealife in Life Aquatic.

My hunch is they're going for the hip/trendy/movie loving viewer, and trying to entice them to feel this card fits them.

I am neither hip nor trendy but I'm aware of Wes Anderson and I'm sure a lot of the movie going public is as well. I don't like him or his movies, I think he's talented and his movies are clever but not funny, entertaining or engaging at all. It's all pretentious fluff for people in their early 20s to watch and feel intellectually superior to others. All that being said I thought I heard him say something about a .38 with a bayonet in the commercial, that's pretty damn funny.

Dude, you're like so totally more advanced and intellectually superior to Wes Anderson fans. Kudos.
