Re: Del Toro is The Wolf Man
Well this is just getting re-goddamn-diculous
Universal has pushed back the release of this yet AGAIN!!!!!!
How disappointing. They've move it from November to February 12th, 2010.

February? That doesn't even fit the timeframe given the tone of the film.. maybe they think horror and Valentine's Day weekend are a score given Friday the 13th's major haul this past year.
Very foolish. I was truly looking forward to this in November.

I'd really forgotten all about this movie... I guess it'll just come as a surprise whenever it does come out. Something had to have gone awry somewhere along the way...

Damn, if it is a turd. I'm worried what Johnston will do to Captain America....It looked good from the bootleg captures we got. Fuck...i was really hoping this one would come out this year.

Great. Another favorite character of mine growing up appears to be botched again. I believe this is the 4th new release date. Wasn't the first date Feb. '09, then April '09, then Nov. '09?
I had read an article on Rotten Tomatoes a few weeks ago that they had done several weeks of re-shoots, and that they weren't happy with some of the effects. I hope this ends up being better than freakin' Van Helsing. That's how low the bar has been set now.

A couple of interesting tidbits:
News in Film.com:
"It was initially delayed when Joe Johnston replaced Mark Romanek in the director’s chair. Then the production called for reshoots over the weekends in late May to transform the way the werewolf stands. When it was first filmed in 2008, the wolf stood on two legs and now he’ll bound after his victims on all fours."
Empire Online:
"Already, you can feel the angry villagers of the internet storming Universal’s castle with pitchforks and flaming torches, convinced that the movie must be an unholy abomination. But not so fast – Universal is claiming that the decision was taken for purely economic reasons, with studies involving bar charts, graphs and PowerPoint presentations showing them that movies released in February make more money than those released in November.
And that, like a Big Brother contestant, is a no-brainer. However, Universal are clearly conscious that they will have to fight negative perceptions of the film (which has had something of a troubled production history, with Johnston replacing original director, Mark Romanek, late in the day); to that end, they’re going to start aggressively promoting the film around Halloween, at their own theme park in LA.
Certainly, all that Empire has seen and heard about this film (check out last month’s issue for an extensive set visit report) is encouraging, and so we remain optimistic about the date change. But if The Wolfman moves again, we might start snarling a bit."

Re: Del Toro is The Wolf Man
This move does make sense. The stupid Twilight sequel would have opened 2 weeks after Wolfman, so it has a better chance of making money for a February release. Re-shoots and 3 delays still have me worried.

Still very interested in seeing it, but I would hope they keep the Bipedal footage in a DVD release or kept a mixture of the two in the film. May have looked cooler with all fours but does that make him a wolf instead?

Re: Del Toro is The Wolf Man
I wonder how much CGI will be used for the Wolfman now? The poster clearly indicated that this Wolfman was still standing like a man. *sigh*...

Terrible news. I've been eagerly anticipating this flick, but the constant delays are def not a good sign. I'll bet Uni is bummed they had to delay considering all of the promo material being prepped for their Halloween Horror Nights.

Chucky? Are we still getting a Child's Play reboot?
Seems like Freddy Krueger would've made more sense since we have the new moving coming in April.
