Just watched the CC footage. So far this thing looks really good. I don't know why this is scheduled for a spring release. I know it's because of the director change, but this isn't a springtime film. Still, it looks awesome. I love that it's a period piece and del Toro is a perfect fit for the character. So far, so good.

From Bloody-Disgusting:
Composing legend Danny Elfman will be scoring Universal Pictures' The Wolfman, according to AICN.

They do release horror movies in the spring before the summer block busters. And then this way they have the dvd ready for Halloween in the fall.

Yea, I know. I just think this film would be so much cooler to see on the big screen in Oct/Nov. I get the reasoning, I just don't necessarily like it.

I also think this looks pretty good and am loving the idea of it being a period piece. Since I thought it'd take place in the present originally and was wondering if that would work or not.

I was at the Comic-Con panel... without seeing anything previously... and I was pleasantly surprised to see how "old school" it looked. Yeah, sucks the transformation is CG but the movie does have a nice look to it. Hopefully the movie will deliver and there will be new wolf-fans.

I can't link to their page for some reason, but photos of the posters are at Shock Till You Drop's website.

Some very sad news to report:
Universal Pictures has pushed back the release of Joe Johnston's The Wolfman from April 3 to November 6

That really sucks, I have been waiting to see how this works and it probably will mess with production on Captain America.

Is there a reason is was pushed back? Or are they looking for that Halloween time craze and hope it kinda cashes in on that?

They should have cast Ron Jeremy. Could have saved some of the budget on make-up.

Makes sense to push The Wolfman release to a week AFTER Halloween

And that Mezco action figure looks excellent...

Rumors are post production hasn't gone well. They're supposedly still working on effects and his transformation scenes.

Regardless, that November slot makes much more sense than early Spring. Surely there were plenty of October dates open.

^^^ Agreed. The whole tone of the movie trailer screams Fall/Early Winter release.
