I always liked Gene Hackman in the Mexican. Partly because the character is talked about the whole movie, but almost never appears and partly because Gene Hackman rules. It was a pleasnt surprise the first time I saw the movie (of course many hated the movie, so I guess they wouldn't care).

Agree with Danny Glover in Maverick.

Recently, Will Ferrell has the best cameos - Starsky and Hutch & Wedding Crashers.

If you look at the footage of Stone in Dave, and the footage of Stone in AGS, you will notice distinct differences.

I don't know if it's my favorite, but the one that threw me for the biggest loop was Steven Spielberg in VANILLA SKY. To that end, perhaps my favorite cameo would be Steven Spielberg in THE BLUES BROTHERS...

I like Weird Al in Naked Gun.

"You don't know how deeply a man can hurt inside!"
"Frank, they're not here to listen to you. Weird Al's on the plane."

Martin Sheen as Capt. Benjamin L. Willard in Hot Shots Part Deux.

When Charlie Sheen is narrating ala Platoon, Captain Willards boat passes by and the narration overlaps into Apocalypse Now.

- As someone else mentioned, Sean Connery in Robin Hood: Prince Of Theives was pretty awesome (especially when you first see it).

- Molly Ringwald in Not Another Teen Movie was pretty funny . . . a lot of respect for her being able to poke fun at herself like that.

- And, I think it's interesting that people have mentioned Chuck Norris and David Hasselhoff in Dodgeball, but no one has mentioned Lance Armstrong. Currently, I think his role in that is the all-time best use of a cameo actor in a movie.
