I know, I know. But that's what went through my head with I first made the connection. And "Sliders" is not a way of belittling his career in any way - I like that show. Watched it all through it's original airings.

John Rhys-Davies is his name. Played supporting characters in lots of movies. But I probably watched Fellowship ten times (six in theaters, I do remember that), and I didn't really recognize him till The Two Towers. You can't blame me. Gimli is just hair and armor.

first thing that came to me was donnie wahlberg in The Sixth Sense.

When i saw his name in the credits, I was like "what part did he play?" had to watch it again to recognize him.

Jeff Goldblum as one of the rapists in Death Wish

And I didn't realize that the Scarecrow from Batman Begins was the lead from 28 Days Later.

Speaking of Tron, I didn't know that Bram played Billy The Kid in a certain bodacious movie.

I didn't realize the first time I saw it that Bob Odenkirk was 'Porno Gil' in Curb Your Enthusiasm (Ep. 103), my favorite episode.

I also didn't catch David Cross in the Cable Guy the first time around.

A lot of people don't recognize Will Ferrell in the first two Austin Powers movies, even if they've seen 'em several times.

When Dirty Harry's last movie The Dead Zone came to DVD, I noticed for the first time that the rock star lipsynching in the Welcome to the Jungle music video was none other than Jim Carrey.

Kind of ruins that whole scene now since you can't take it seriously, and it sort of hurts the movie a bit as well. Was Axel Rose unavailable?

He also had a small role in Commando. He was the guy on the Coast Guard ship telling Arnie and Rae they were in restricted air space and would be forced to land yada yada.

I remember when the movie came out and Guns & Roses was just hitting it big back then. They were asked about the actor playing the singer in the movie and one of them (Slash, I think) said "That guy was such a geek!"

(I actually like Jim Carrey's part in the movie - he's very obviously spoofing rock stars' typically cheesy histrionics when performing).

Ethel in the "Its a Good Life" segment of Twilight Zone: the Movie was none other than Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson.

Pia Zadora was one of the martian kids in "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians."

Actually Axel Rose (and the rest of the band) are standing in the background while Harry investigates the death of the rock star.
