That episode might have been funny if they had aired it within a year of the Phantom Menace's release. Instead, they aired it (a ridiculous amount of times) during the 2003-2004 TV season which was probably 3 or 4 years too late...

How could you not laugh during that? The Simpsons writers hit the nail on the head. |

Wow, even more reasons not to love the simpsons. I don't mind parody, but that just wasn't very funny. It was about on par with Bart and Lisa going "Cowabunga dude, Star Wars sucks!"

Didn't click the links since I'm at work, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, I "took a page" from that episode and wore a plaid shirt and jeans to the movie. I've already been told I resemble Lucas, (thinner and 'tanner') so...I said I was in costume. (But not the actual one like Comic Book Guy.)
My fav Simpsons SW reference is Lenny and Carl fighting over which film sucked more. "TPM sucked more.. No, AOTC sucked more!" (lil battle)

that was funny. the only major thing it missed with regard to fans are all the ugly chicks wearing "I love dorks!" and "Nerds are hot!" t-shirts. |

The best Star Wars jokes in The Simpsons are:
the episode where Bleeding Gums Murphey dies and all the voices of James Earl Jones join him in communicating with Lisa from beyond the grave. Although they got the line from ESB wrong. and anytime they use the Imperial March when Mr. Burns is plotting something. |

I couldn't help but laugh at not only the Simpsons parody but the French and Saunders parody of the the Star Wars universe at specific scenes in "Revenge of the Sith"

It's always nice to have a reminder of how unfunny The Simpsons has become. I will give them props at least for not going directly for entry level "Star Wars sucks" joke (Jar Jar) and the opening crawl text was slightly worth a chuckle. Thanks for the reminder though, it's been a while.
