I've said it before, JP2 was an alright movie (except that girl and her gymnastics) but it blows compared to the book.

JP2 had all the vehicles that they had as toys from JP1
JP3 ends too abruptly. that marine force would have had to have been just off the coast of the island when the call was made to show up that fast

That is why they are so different from each other.

Well that does certainly explain alot, Michael Corvin. But JP2 still blows. JP1 is the best (thought it pales in comparison to the book) and JP3 is a decent popcorn flick. But, as others have said, it ends too abruptly and I expected another T-Rex to show up at the end since the T-Rex is viewed as the hero of the series.

Reading the premise for the movie made it sound really cool. But watching the trailer...didn't really help it.

I had always assumed that the movie was different because so much was changed in the orginal movie.
The "villan" in the book had exactly 2 minutes of screen time in the orginal movie...and i realize he didnt stay long in the book either...but i know nobody would have realized that was him from JP1 except movie buffs.

After reading "A Sound of Thunder" last year I was looking forward to the movie. I still am...well looking forward to the dvd. I could still be fun in a way "The Core" was, but it doesn't look like it will come close to approaching the brilliance and elegance of the short story.

Of course, the first one is a classic and a much better film than the third one, but for entertainment value alone I enjoy the first and third equally.

JP3 (IMO) was missing something...and i think it has alot to do with all this "streamlining" that has been mentioned.
The movie seemed to rush into things, getting to the island, being stranded on the island, getting across the island, the Marine ending. It just all felt rushed.
As i have said before, i did enjoy the parts where Grant and others made reference to the what happened after the first and second movies. I did find it cool that Grant had changed his outlook on dinosaurs after his visit to the park. This actually showed some character growth for Dr. Grant.

Honestly, I would have enjoyed that. All you'd need is Tomas Jane as the human leading the dinos. But perhaps they should have made it a standalone movie with tangenial references to Jurrassic Park instead of an actual sequel.

I wouldn't mind seeing such a movie, however.
