It is usually a toss up between Red Beard and Throne of Blood for me. I haven't seen Kagemusha, though. I'll vote Red Beard.

Throne of Blood is totally great but Red Beard just hits me emotionally. He has so many great movies.

Ikiru for me. Plus, "Seven Samurai" has never really scored that well with me.

Haven't seen quite everything on the list yet, but so far, I would go with YOJIMBO.

It's a tossup between Stray Dog and Ikiru for me. I showed Stray Dog the love.

I have seen all of them. My favorite is the quirky Do-des Ka-den (sp?). Of your choices, I voted for Rashoman

Of your choices I would go with Ran but Sanjuro is my absolute favorite and most underrated.

Of the ones on the list (seen all, most at the movies at one time or another) my favourite would be Throne of Blood.
My favourite all in all might be Dersu Uzala.

I've seen everyone numerous times. For sheer rewatchablity and fun it's Yojimbo. For amazing story and emotion it's without a doubt Ikiru.

I've always found the light-hearted exuberance of The Hidden Fortress to be very enjoyable. I was also incredibly impressed with his first, the judo movie Sanshiro Sugata. Hopefully someone will come out with a much better print of that one, as the Hong Kong release I"ve got is quite poor.

The only other one I've seen is Rashomon, but I really want to see more Kurosawa's films. I have Ikiru, Yojimbo, Ran, Stray Dog, and Throne of Blood in my netflix queue.

I chose Ikiru because it is my favorite Kurosawa movie about the 20th century. I enjoy all of the period samurai/epic war titles equally
