Who has seen this anime feature?
It's hard to find, and pretty much impossible to rent (around here). I'm wondering if those who've seen it can give me an idea of whether or not it's a good blind buy. Akira is by far my favorite anime movie - I also enjoyed Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Perfect Blue. I've seen a lot of anime, but I figured I'd give you all three movies from completely different genres to let you know what I enjoy: a good story.

It's an okay film but not great. The story is fascinating but near the end gets a little self indulgent and ambiguius, (typical of the genre IMO). Animation is highly stylish and unfortunately overshadows a story that could have been a lot more in depth.

I have it, and it's been a while since I watched it, but I do remember liking it a lot. I don't really think it's a lot like the four you mentioned though.

It's been a long time since I saw it, but I was very unimpressed. The animation was good, but the story itself was slow moving and kind of boring. I really can't remember many details though.

I loved it. Don't go in expecting anything similar to Ghost in the Shell, though. Jin-Roh is a quiet character study and a very good one at that.
