Anyone see Sunshine State with Edie Falco?

John Sayles directed it and Tim Matheson, and Angela Bassett are the co-stars.

Charming, enjoyable ensemble piece. It doesn't have the weight of other Sayles flicks, but that's not to its detriment.

See it for the performances, Falco in particular.

Starring Timothy Hutton

Well, if you like John Sayles film you will enjoy this one, great character development, small Florida town as a metaphor of America, issue of race relations, heritage vs. progress, etc. Very good performances.

I'm a big Sayles fan (he's probably one of the best directors of our time) but this one left me a little disappointed. Fine cast and still enjoyable, but not up to his usual high quality.
