Hands off my woman! You can have Orlando Bloom...he's still very feminine.

True, but I think I'll have to pass.

I thought it was decent but nothing spectacular. By the way I thought Johnny Depp's performance in Once Upon A Time In Mexico was way better (and more Oscar worthy) than POTC

It was a great summer popcorn flick, with a much stronger performance from the lead actor than is typical for these types of movies.

I wasn't expecting much. The trailers weren't very enticing. And yeah, it is based on a ride for crying out loud. How lame was that?

Well, I forgot all those things once the movie began. Very fun, entertaining flick, great visuals, solid performances, and great visuals:

I really enjoyed it, but I am still a bit baffled why it is so beloved. I had friends who were in awe of it and went several times. "Wow, it's so awesome!" I thought it was fun and I bought the DVD... but I apparently missed that X-factor that set it apart from other similarly enjoyable blockbusters.

Aren't they fairly interchangeable?

Because Gareth from "The Office" kept having his eyeball pop out. Duh.

Because it took me 2 hours to figure out it was the guy from 'Coupling' that played the commodore..

Also - the score rocked my world. And Kiera... It just had it all.
