Potter dropped an amazing 63% . Shrek 2 is amazing, and should easily be at #6 all-time (domestic) by next weekend. Can it get another ~105 million to rank second all-time?

I don't get HP, the best movie of the three (IMHO) is probably going to make the least money. Whassup with that? Potter fatigue or too much competition?

Jeez, Shrek is still going huge (it'll pass 400 mil easily). As for me, I still haven't seen Potter but will later this week on IMAX. It's already made a lot of money, and will make more than 200 million. It's probably just suffering because of Shrek.

Really surprised the three new ones surpassed 20 mil each, especially Garfield and Stepford which I would have figured to open around 9-10 million. Day After Tomorrow also looks like it'll pass 200 million before it's run is out.

Should be interesting next weekend with The Terminal and yet another family flick Around The World in 80 Days.

Potter is not a summer movie. I think it would have done better with another November opening.

Impressive take by Riddick -- I didn't think it'd do over $20M.

Well all those who were going to see it already did. now it's time to see if it has enough legs for repeat viewings and the such. You also need to attract folks who have already invested the 6 hours watching the previous 2.

Considering $35M is very good for any opening day, let alone a second weekend, take, I don't think its bad for HP. Considering the huge take on the first weekend, of course the next weekend will be much less.

Didn't the first HP open during the summer?
