Two Million Dollar Man
by Gary Cribbs

A normal man is given two million dollars and our cameras follow him around to see how his life changes.
Yeah, I've fantasized about being friends with Bill Gates. He could lend me $5 million for 1 year. He doesn't lose any money and I get to keep what I make.

I'm sure he could dig up $5 million from between his couch cushions

The next time I say I am sick tell me to get away from trading HSX stock. I am not sure what I ended up doing last night but I ended up selling Shrek 3

I sort of remember it.

Fever and headaches do not mix with thinking.

I am going to cashout of garfield and go to bed all day today

I still will be up $700-$800K today however I could have been up a bunch more

I suck.

By the way, I was looking at the HSX board Code of Conduct (the boards are at talk.hsx.com), and noticed the following:
In addition, the following conducts are considered Market Manipulation, which is illegal on HSX and offenders will be assessed fines.

Posting your recent trade transaction (i.e. I just bought XXYYZ.)
Posting your limit order or a future trade transaction (i.e. I will sell at H$100)
Posting an unsubstantiated call to action on a security (i.e. Buy XXYYZ!)
Posting stock movements (i.e. XXYYZ is up 2!)
The Code is not clear on whether it's only market manipulation to do this on the HSX board, or if it's market manipulation to do it anywhere -- including DVDTalk. To be safe, I don't think we should post stock movements in these threads any more.

Note that HSX has never been upset if people post recent transactions or calls to action with analysis (i.e. it's OK to say "I bought SHRK3 because I'm sure that everyone is going to jump all over it in light of how well SHRK2 did," but not just "I just bought SHRK3!")

I do when I have about 4-5 aspirin in me. I am just hanging in to get out of Garfield.

I am pretty sure the code only applies to the HSX board although who knows. based on our numbers it is pretty obvious to anyone that we are not all doing the same thing so we are not trying to manipulate the market.

If we are we all suck at it

Thanks for the kind words

Jason, that goes towards posting in the community message board. They don't want to have it flooded with "OMG!!!11 _____ is dropping 5 points!" on there. I doubt they are extending it to every person playing on any message board as I have seen one side unofficial HSX message board that post that stuff like normal.

Within our league, I've noticed that some people post what they're doing ("I'm going to buy up SHRK3 during the commission-free period!") and others are mum.

I guess it depends on how competitive you are. If you have a good strategy, it's in your best interest (in terms of standings on our private leaderboard) to keep it to yourself.

On the other hand, it's fun to "share the wealth" and see others from the community do well. It's too bad HSX doesn't have competitive leagues where we could work as a team.

Yeah, there are some items I don't share with others, but since someone asked why their shrek2 warrent was dropping I figured it would be cool to express the theory on why. Looks like it was somewhat correct as you can see how huge the shrek 3 stock is now.

This was one fun past week and figured to share the wealth. Perhaps some wouldn't have played Shrk3 if it wasn't for all the talk but hey, It all depends on the amount you played and so forth. I doubt everyone could buy in 50k like the big spenders here.

Damn, all three hit 20+, looks like I only got 1 out of 3 correct. oh well.

It would be hard at times to post some things like stocks you are turning on a buy sell short pattern. You have to hit it close to right and the delay would kill people.

I do think we do post some ideas like the Shrek3 buy although maybe it was obvious to people.

I will give you my idea for a decent chance to make money next week.

I think AW80D has a good shot to make some money next week.

It has a 2.9 multiplier like all movies but it also gets the gross from wed and thrus added in.

It needs under 15 million for the weekend to hit the numbers on HSX of around $43 and it also gets the additional numbers from the two days. If it hits 20 million you would get a ton.

Sure it could do low numbers although I feel the odds of hitting below the $43 after adjust is very small.

Well I play the options Calls and puts are my bread and butter, I don't long or short the actual movie stocks.

so losing out on 100k or whatever it's going to be for stepford and garfield isn't to bad considering that it will be a 1 million dollar day today alone.

I was just going to sink some major cash into Shrek 3, but I noticed it was at 15 as opposed to 18, so I knew that the sellout had started.
