William Hung sings She Bangs, not Living La Vida Loca. Both are very annoying Ricky Martin songs, and regardless, I don't think that it really affects the song in the movie. I just don't think that it fits in very good.

I stand corrected.

I loved Jennifer Saunders as Fairy Godmother, moreso as I had not know she was cast in the film, so when she initially was introduced I thought it was Emma Thompson.

But then Edwina from Ab-Fab came out to play and I was rolling.

This was so much better than the 1st Shrek and I loved Shrek

A very excellent film. Its funny, they really sold out this time around with all tie ins and promotions but it really fit and didn't detract from movie, actually it really added to it.

I don't really see how Puss could have a spin off. He was great but he was more comic relief then anything else.

Did anyone else catch the Indiana Jones reference. I thought it was great!

Also what is the Knights part that everyone keeps talking about?

From IMDB:
"In the scene where Shrek and Fiona argue, there is a 'Stonehenge' poster in the background which shows the members of Spinal Tap wearing medieval garb."

I noticed the poster, but I didn't get a chance to notice who was on it.

"Knights" was the name of the "COPS" parody show watched on the magic mirror.

Does anyone know what movie this scene is from?

Spoiler:

What movie was the inspiration for when the big gingerbread man was doused with milk and was falling away as his arms broke off, and then the little gingebread man jumps off towards the big gingerboard man. That shot was so familiar, but I couldn't place the film.

Well the whole thing was parodying Ghostbusters but I'm not sure of the exact shot.

Wasn't the shot of Donkey when they're first driving into Far Far Away past the palm trees similar to Beverly Hills Cop when Eddie Murphy first drives into town and he's looking around, amazed and all?

Yeah I saw the Spinal Tap reference. It was on for quite a while. I tried to explain it to my wife but she said I was crazy. It said Stonehenge and it had a guitarist and lead singer that looked more like Page and Plant than Tap

And of course Ghostbusters was parodying mutant creatures in Godzilla movies so it's a double parody.

Was lots of fun, puss n boots did indeed steal da show as did fairy godmother and the king

Great job by all

I would love to see a very sex and violence animated feature with shrek level of animation. that would rock!

The two throwaways that made me laugh the most were the ET reference with Mongo... and the crossing from one Farbucks to the other.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to start a spoiler thread and compile all the little in jokes / pop culture references? They go by so quickly, I think it would fun to have those before seeing this again.

And since I have a 5-year old, I WILL be seeing this again. :-)

I loved this movie, and I know that 99% of people who loved the first one, will really really enjoy this one.

My favourite moment .. I was in hysterics when Donkey
Spoiler:
smacked his lips loudly one last time right between Fiona and Shrek
on the journey to Far Far Away.

My 10 yr old daughter and I did this to my wife while she was driving on a 3 hr drive this Memorial Day Weekend. We two were in hysterics every time we did it, with my wife just rolling her eyes every time.
