I read this in a review for the film (glad I didn't wanna read the books!) after seeing it, but I kind of got that vibe all along.
Huh? Did that happen in the movie? I don't remember Bettany being a spy, or anything of the sort. Did I miss something or was that just in the book?

Sonnenfeld's movie before that one, Big Trouble, is another one that isn't so great, but I liked the book and saw it ... it's only 85 minutes and there was quite a bit from the book that was left out. This was scheduled to be released in the fall of 2001 but was pushed back and dumped, pretty much, in the late summer of 2002. The studio delayed it because of the storyline involving a highjacking of a plane (played for laughs, but a sensitive subject around 9/11 and still).

I think you're confused. This isn't a part of the film at all.

Personally, I think that resolving that particular storyline would be anti-climatic at best.
This is indeed what I meant. I suppose it might've been anti-climactic, but I think a lot of that would depend on the execution. I just think why bring something like that up in the last act if you aren't going to deal with it.

reservoir dogs in my opinion could have used another 20 or so minutes. for me it seems that the ending was rushed a bit.

I would have to agree on the Goonies. I could have used another 2 hours in that movie! Needed more Sloth and Chunk.

8 Mile I always thought that if they added another half hour to flesh out the relationships that Jimmy had with his mother and girlfriend the movie would've been much better.
