Troy reportedly cost $150 million to make. If it doesn't make at least that much in ticket sales, then I would consider it a bomb. I think it will surpass $200 million in sales, though, so my vote is for Catwoman.

I hope and pray Catwoman bombs, along with Garfield. Or may I just have something against cats. :-)

As much as I am going to avoid Catwoman, I voted for Around The World in 80 Days...have you seen the trailers for this thing? We're talking super-duper bad. It would be nice to see Catwoman really bomb, though...just because I'm sick of all the poorly made comic book movies we've been getting.

But the question was "Which will be the summer's biggest bomb?" So, if one movie cost $150 million and only made $149 million...it's isn't as big of a bomb that cost $30 million and only made $5 million.

Another vote here for Catwoman, though Garfield doesn't look any good either.

Anyone know what the budget is for Catwoman, b/c I may be the only one that doesn't think it's going to bomb. I'm not saying it looks good, I just think it will open huge, probably around $40 Million & at least make $100 million + overseas + DVD sales I think the movie will do just fine.

People that are saying that Around the World in 80 Days will bomb are way off, Chan is still huge around the world & that movie will more than make it's money back on overseas sales & DVD sales.

I seem to be alone, in that I think everyone here is wrong. With DVD sales making nearly 50% of summer movie gross (according to the NY Post interview with DC & Pixar execs) I really don't think any major summer release will bomb. "Bomb" to me means it will not make it's money back.

If I have to pick one movie that would be close to a bomb, with a less than stellar success, I would go with Thunderbirds, I'm sure the movie wasn't exactly cheap to make, & unless the release date changed, the movie is opening up w/ The Village & Manchurian Candidate. I can't see this movie making more than $50 million.

Garfield cannot and will not fail because it's not in the same category as those other movies listed. The other movies listed were titles geared towards a definately older audience range, at least the 18-45 age group. The 18-45 age group easilly recognizes that crap like Scooby Doo and Cat in the Hat are pure crap. The average DVDtalker will not see any of those movies. Those movies and Garfield are geared towards kids, and kids will drag their parents in droves to Garfield. I predict it will not only do smashingly well, but they are already planning a sequel and will green light those plans based on a successful first week.

Catwoman, on the other hand, isn't striking a chord with it's target audience, so will respectfully BOMB.

This is a tough call. I'll exclude Stepford Wives, King Arthur and Manchurian Candidate because those three might do decent box office. Garfield will probably do good business no matter how awful it is. I Robot will be a disappointment, but not a major one. Around the World in 80 Days will be a mild bomb as well. Riddick will be a disaster compared to cost, but should still fetch $20 mil opening weekend or so.

Leaving Catwoman and Thunderbirds, both will bomb hard. Catwoman will get some business due to Halle and the laugh factor. But the budget will guarantee it'll be a bomb. Then you got Thunderbirds... who is this for? It's based on a show only 30+ year olds should remember, yet they're aiming it at the under ten market. Maybe it'll pull in kid business despite this, but I dunno. They should've tried for more of an all-ages approach.

I think The Chronicles of Riddick and King Arthur will both perform sub-par.

Catwoman - Personally I think WB had big hopes for this 10 ton anchor to float. Some of the other choices don't seem to movies that a major studio is banking on.

Didn't even Wild Wild West open fairly decently for Willy?

Anyway, a vote for Catwoman, although Garfield looks pretty bad too.

Catwoman. Although I, Robot deserves to fail equally.

It took in about $115 million (domestic gross), but the budget was around $170 million (plus another $50 million for marketing).

catwomen will do good numbers for the first week, due to it being a comic book movie staring halle berry. also, because it looks so freakin bad, you can expect some extra seats in there. after fans of the character and fan boys ready to laugh their ass off see it, thats it. bomb city, until it it picks up 10 years down the road as a cult classic.

What is Chronicles of Riddick all about? I kinda know the premise of all other movies except this one. So I voted for it.

It's the mega budget Vin Diesel sci-fi action epic thingy. The sorta sequel to Pitch Black.

While I don't think this will be the biggest bomb (I still think this might be a kick ass movie) I think this flick will struggle to succeed financially considering it's enormous budget. Catwoman won't be a hit and has a high chance of just outright bombing. I know I won't be seeing it, and I see lots of everything.

Before I viote, define bombing. Is it a movie that is univeraly panned and stinks on ice, or is a 'bomb' something that doesnt make coin at the box office.
