Godsend

Any word on this one yet? Haven't heard any reviews but the trailer looks very interesting imo, or at least I find the basic premise interesting.

The premise is interesting, but I see this one being a total turkey. I haven't read any reviews yet.

I think it looks good, and i'm guessing that the movie will be a little bit of a surprise success.

I will definitely see this, but I swear I saw the first trailers for it at the theatre about 10 months ago. Thus, I feel that it was sitting on the shelf -- never a good sign.

Since then, they filmed 5 different endings for the movie. Apparently they couldn't come up with a satisfying way to end the film. That could be the reason for the delay.

It was originally going to be released last October. There were some reshoots, along with trims made to snag a PG-13 (they were originally shooting for an R). Apparently the ending was originally really klutzy...I think that's what inspired the reshoots. Reportedly there were five endings in total (!).

(Whoops - partially redundant from the post above mine, but...oh well.)

I can top that one. I saw the first trailer for this in front of Confidence its opening weekend; which was over a year ago.

Maybe someone can spoil this for me because I wont be seeing this. What exactly is so dangerous about reaching the age that he died?

Anyone else get the video clip of the deleted Rebecca/Greg sex scene? Shame that won't be in the film.

Now lets add this up......
5 different endings reshot
+ 1 Rebecca Romijn without blue body suit(see Rollerball or Femme Fatale for reference)
+ 23 out of 24 rotten reviews at rottentomatoes.com
+ 1 unknown director
+ 1 loaded weekend with lots of other releases
= 1 big stinker of a film

Woah, slow down. FEMME FATALE is a fantastic movie. Romijn was great in it. Silly, theatrical, absurd... Sure. But fantastic.

I was supposed to see GODSEND this week, but the print mysteriously never showed up to the screening location.

Hmmm....

I also saw the trailer for this before Confidence opening weekend. I remember thinking it looked kind of interesting, but then forgot all about it

I just saw a commercial for it, and couldn't believe it was just now coming out

I'd actually rather not see Rollberball or Femme Fatale.

Ebert's 2-star review: http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert...odsend30f.html

Looks like I was right when I said it'd be a turkey.

Yes, because their opinions are the final word on the movie...EVER. Nobody in the history of the world will ever like it. Not a SINGLE person. It must be a turkey if Ebert says it is. When has he ever had an odd opinion about something?

Once upon a time, Ebert gave David Lynch's Blue Velvet 1-star and Coppola's The Godfather Part 2 2 stars. He also gave Speed 2: Cruise Control 3 stars and The Phantom Menace 3 1/2 stars. He's got fat building up on his brain as well as his body.

If you had any credibility up to this point, it's gone now...

What a stupid thing to say.

I'm gonna wait till it's on DVD. DeNiro's acting - based on the tiny short clips in the trailer - looks bad... the fact that the gore was all removed and there's different endings, I'm gonna go ahead and hold off hoping they make a good DVD with an R-rated version or at least all the cut footage available as an extra.

Can't argue with that Blue Velvet rating...

I will be skipping Godsend, it just looked like a bad movie the first time I saw the preview.

I just saw Godsend last night on DVD. IMO this was really a good movie. I'll have to re-watch the first 5-10 mins however.

Did Godsend stay in the theaters long? I was away at school when it came out, and I really didn't hear that much about it.
