Ooh, I'll play.
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 5/5
Just an amazing, amazing film and Charlie Kaufman is from my hometown.
2. Kill Bill: Volume 2 5/5
A fine way to end a great vengeance yarn.
3. Passion of the Christ 5/5
Very heartwrenching and powerful even to a heathen like me.
4. Dawn of the Dead 4.5/5
A kick-you-in-the-nuts fun film.
5. Hellboy 4/5
A fun, though flawed flick.
Mano out.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... easily one of the best films I've seen in the past few years, and easily the best of 2004 for me so far.
Kill Bill vol 2 was also excellent, and I really liked The Passion, though it was a totally different type of movie.

Not only is Kill Bill 2 the best movie I have seen this year, it is in my top 5 all time list. A masterpiece.
What a perfect ending. And I can almost hear Tarantino saying "I don't care whether you like this movie or not, I made it for myself".

I was just thinking... It's April and we already have 3 movies that will likely be remembered for a long time to come.
3 "wide release" movies no-less. (imo, Passion the Christ (haven't seen it but it seems like one of those films that will be around for a long, long time), Eternal Sunshine, and Kill Bill Volume 2 (for me at least))
Kinda rare isn't it? At least, seems like a pretty solid first Trimester record.
(And considering my interest in several Cannes flicks and a boatload of Korean ones (Old Boy in 2 weeks!!) this seems like it'll be a solid movie viewing year. )
