13 Going on 30: pleasantly surprised
Saw it last night during a screener. I expected the worse but the movie in general and Jennifer Gartner specific really worked for me. It's not a repeat of 'Big' (which I disliked anyway) but a fun movie with a heart.
Highly recommended for a feel good movie or with kids.

Guess it all depends on age. I'm from '73 and I loved the eighties. If you were a toddler in the eighties you have little in common with it I guess.

stole this from imdb
Jenna Rink is a typical preteen girl who wants more than anything to grow up. On her 13th birthday, Jenna's only wish is to get older and fast. When she wakes up the next morning, she's 30 years old, a sucessful magazine editor with a live-in boyfriend! Jenna tracks down Matt(her best friend when she was younger) to try and figure out what has happened.

BIG 2
I am so happy that my prediction that there would be a "Big 2" is coming true. Almost all the jokes I thought they would make are in the trailer including the boob ones. I figure they did the penis one with Tom Hanks, so why wouldn't they...

I think it was cute film that needed a little more bite to it. I wouldn't see it again, though, just not enough to revisit, but a matinee viewing would be okay if you're a fan of Garner and Ruffalo. I think I was the only one in the theater that got that the lines that Jenna spouted on love were from a song from the 1980's to school girls, who thought her proclamations to be "deep".
I give it 2.5 stars or a grade of C+.

Jennifer Garner rules and this movie was pretty damn entertaining. A decent feel good movie that has some genuine laughs. Worth seeing if you like Garner or the ads interest you.

Here's a pretty cool Jennifer Garner site:

Lot of video clips from Jennifer Garner promos (E!, Regis & Kelly, The View, Total Request Live, Good Morning America, etc.).

I just saw the movie today and thought it was really cute. I'm a child of the 80s so the Thriller scene and the retro music was cool to me.
I have one itty, bitty pet peeve though: for a 13 year old girl, she seemed way too comfortable walking in high heels. I know 30 year old women who can't walk in them. Maybe there's a deleted scene with her falling down and practicing but that just bothered me.

I saw the movie yesterday. Overall, I enjoy it. And near the end, when JG was in tear, I almost couldn't hold mine back either.
Not sure if it has much replay value though. I'll wait a while and see how much I want to see it again.

Who the hell at 13 years old wishes they were 30 of all things... I'm 30 now and in all my life, I never wished I was 30. That alone made this film sucky - but there was plenty here to dislike... from Garner's ape-ish mugging (she would probably call it 'acting') to the lazy scriptwriting.
*sigh* so uhh... how is she actually gonna go from 13 to 30?
Shit, do I have to think of everything? How about wishing dust? I don't care.
