Hmm....I don't think this movie has Frank Sinatra in it so I'll have to pass.

Well they first pitched having Sinatra in the remake but that whole "It's already been done in weekend at bernies" thing came up.

When I first heard they were doing this I was pissed - I am still a little pissed, but I have to admit that was a good teaser trailer.

I'll see this for the cast and reserve judgment until then.

uhm, let me see here....what was wrong with the original? NOTHING.....therefore, there is absolutely no need whatsoever for this and I will never ever see it....the only way to stop this nonsense is for people to stop paying to see needless remakes of great movies.

please, don't go.....

But for every bad remake there are some good ones. The Fly, umm...I'll think of more eventually.

Yeah and Jonathon Demme already proved he can remake films better than the originals, as he showed with his stunning remake of Charade.

Man that, The Turth about About Charlie was awesome!!!

And that original Manchurian Candidate was okay, but who needs third rate actors like Laurence Harvey, when you can have the uni-dimensional Denzel play the role.

I'll probably see it but I thought the original was pretty good. The original was a little trippy in the flashback scenes.

Don't forget the remake of Psycho, where the original also featured Janet Leigh.

The original was a classic, I don't think anyone could top Laurence Harvey, and I really fail to see the point in this, other than $$$$.

Thanks for your support. I feel bad about the remarks I made last night in regards to seeing the remake because of the good trailer and the cast. You made me feel guilty.

Jonathon Demme: Former brilliant director who decided to make nothing but remakes for some reason and killed his carreer and any box office clout he ever had. This guy is a beautiful example of a failed carreer in film. What a loser.

Edit: OK now I've watced the trialer. **** you Jonathon Demme! You ****in' suck. What a steaming turd. You suck you suck you suck you suck you suck. I think somebody brainwashed Demme and turned him from a great director into a thieving hack. If I ever see Demme on the street I'm going to do what Frank Sinatra and John Frankenheimer would do if they were alive and kick this little bitch right in the nuts.

Now instead of the film being about an insidious communist plot it's about The Manchurian Corporation. A big evil corporation. They're going to vilify big business. With the cold war over we turn on ourselves. **** Hollywood and **** everyone involved in this excrement that some idiots will call a movie.

That's the sound of Demme's soul escaping his body.

I think Hollywood needs to start re-making bad movies and try to make them good. Re-making good movies is absolutely pointless because as good as it could be, it will never be better.

remakes of good movies = $

Hollywood is all about $

therefore hollywood makes remakes.

It isn't difficult.

So very true. Everyone has already listed lots of remakes that couldn't possibly live up to the originals, but....
you could tell the others were gonna be turds from the trailers. At least Manchurian Candidate looks like it could be at least pretty decent. Better than the original....Hell no, but at at least decent.

I still remember Oprah telling Mike Myers how great she thought Cat In The Hat was.
