Animated Kill Bill Prequel on the way?
Alright I know IMDB is a "tabloid" blah blah blah but they have this on their news section:
Maverick director Quentin Tarantino is planning an animated prequel to his Kill Bill movies - to show the early life of the deadly assassin. The film will be drawn in the Japanese manga style already seen in Kill Bill Volume 1 and will focus on the three men - pimp Estebian Vihaio and martial arts masters Hattori Hanzo and Pei Mai - who turned Bill into a ruthless killer. The Oscar-winning writer and director will write and produce the film. Tarantino has also speculated that he could return to Kill Bill's world in 15 years time to follow the daughter of a character killed in the first film. The popular filmmaker - who took five years off after directing Jackie Brown to return to the screen with the violent revenge saga - is next set to direct a segment of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's comic book adaptation Sin City.

why does everyone think imdb is so completely unreliable? what percentage of the time are they wrong vs. right about upcoming film news?

I have no doubt that Tarantino has said this, but I doubt very much it will ever get done. The list of potential projects he has discussed could probably fill a book. I'm still waiting for the Vega brothers movie, a prequel to Pulp Fiction about Jules and Vincent, a remake of Casino Royale and probably have a dozen other things I'm forgetting.

I know Kill Bill Vol. 1 was originally released under the
Mirimax name which is a subsidary of Disney.
Does anyone think that the prequel could actually be released under the Disney name since it is animated? It might actually expand the film's audience. What do you think?

While I thought it laughable at first, if Disney thought it might salvage their 2-D animation dept, they might give it a try. Just the thought of an animated Disney musical written by QT.

More Kill Bill? I'm all for it, and I really loved the Anime sequence in part one. Rather disappointed to hear no anime in part 2.
Should this not pan out, like past Tarantino projects, I won't care so much, the Kill Bill movies we have now should be good enough.

I'd really like to see something like that, but as others have said, when it comes to Tarantino possible future projects, I'll believe it when I see it. I'm a huge fan of his films and love the guy, but more than once he's mouthed off about projects that he's never gotten around to doing. Hope he actually does this one though.
