Arnold as an actor
I am tired of people calling Arnold the worst actor ever, bla bla bla.
I mean, sure, he is no Robert de niro, but come on, his acting is not THAT BAD. He does ok in the movies he's in. His accent is of course a little distracting, but in my opinion he acts a lot better than most people say.
Especially in movies like T2 End of Days - acting was quite good if you ask me. It's not brilliant, but perfect for the part.

Arnold's great at what he does. You don't expect him to be a dramatical actor. He's a blow them up, ask one liners later type of hero and he's might good at it.

No one really calls him the worst actor anymore... not for at least 15 years. However, there was a time when he was good and essentially delivered his lines perfectly for what he was doing. He had this perfect beaming charisma and was convincing for the role. Look at Predator or even True Lies for the last time he nailed it. Then he tried to play the downtrodden everyman and it was brutal. End of Days and Collateral Damage feature some remarkably bad acting on Arnie's part.
Arnie's an ultra confident man of action. Or a big goofy cartoon. You take him out of those roles and he sucks. Did you see the scene in Collateral Damage where Arnie's trying to make a 'sad' face over the loss of his wife? Instead of mourning, it looked like he was wincing from being pinched in the arm. Or how about when Arnie gets all hysterical & yells at the African-American female cop in End of Days? Brutal.

I thoght he was very good in the scene between Conan and Subotai just before the Battle on the Mounds in Conan The Barbarian (international version). Also, his prayer to Crom was great.
But like many say, he's not the best but he's certainly very good at what he does.
He'd make an awesome Hamlet, though.

Arnold is just a different breed of actor. He's good at what he does...being Arnold, being that bigger than life hero or villian. As said before, his misstep was when he tried to play more average, everyman type of roles. He just sucks at it, because in NO WAY is he an everyman. Physically, mentally, financially, career wise whatever.
But I can say this...nobody blows shit up better than Arnold in his heyday.

He is good at what he is best known for......Action films with larger than life heroes. He doesn't have enough range to convincingly play an everyman.......he doesn't even look like an everyman.

Although I'm not a huge fan, I think he was great in movies like
The Running Man
Total Recall
Terminator 1 and 2
Predator
but movies like
Twins
Kindergarden Cop
End of Days
True Lies
didn't do it for me.

awfully entertaining. I used to watch Predator and Commando atleast 4 times a week.. if not more each day. Damn him for programing the future voters to vote for him.

I like arnord. he's not the greatest but if you wanna see a great action movie chances are he'll deliver. I didn't see collateral damage, but I did like End of Days, but I tend to like films with that kinda subject matter.. like The Order and Stigmata too. Of course true lies is awesome, I think his best terminator movie was T3 because he seemed like more of a supporting role there, it wasn't all about him like the others were. However, I can't stand the conan movies, especially the first. There's some downright bad and BORING acting in both of them, but not all from arnold.
