Another remake: The Hills Have Eyes
First Saw. Then Dawn. Now there's a note in Variety that Dimension is persuing a remake of THE HILLS HAVE EYES to be written and directed by Alexander Aja of gay Pah-ree.
And what was it, a couple months ago, they had a big ode to Larry Cohen and he mentioned shopping around IT'S ALIVE! ... have to admit I'm intrigued by that.

Somehere there's some horror geek who goes to every convention, is part of every club, knows everything about the genre and one day he'll write the best horror film ever.
Won't matter a bit, because no studio will care, they'll be too busy remaking old horror movies.

If Wes Craven were alive today, he'd be spinning in his grave.
Old Craven knew that remakes were the kiss of death. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to watch The Last House on the Left.

Don't know what to think of this. I wish studios would develop new horror movies with bright ideas.

I'm actually all up for a Hills Have Eyes remake. The first is good, but not perfect.

I'm kind of interested in this.
I liked Haute Tension, and I am curious to see how Aja is going to put the treatment on Hills...
also Craven I think picked Aja to do the remake.

I loved Tension and Im down to see what Aja does with his version of Hill, i think i read he said Craven has final cut on it so Im sure he wont be pulling any Haute Tension twists.

The Hills is an okay movie, but gets more credit than deserved due to who directed it.
I loved Tension, so add me to another who can't wait to see what Aja has up his sleeve.

This one deserves a big
OY.
I'll soon have to close my eyes and stop going to the cinema because all i'll see are the ghosts of better movies released 20 or so years ago.

Sometimes this just gets too much. The TCM remake at least had the benefit of a very well known story and great lead character, and Dawn at least...well at least it had zombies.
But a remake of this? I don't even think the original had a very good storyline (nor do I care for it much) so I can't even fathom why you'd remake it. It's not even that well known, so it's not like they're banking on its marketability. Geesh...write a new story!!!
