Envy Trailer

I just watched the trailer for Envy. It looks very funny. And Christopher Walken is in it. You should check it out. http://moviemaze.de/media/trailer/3241.html

I saw this with T3. I wasn't very impressed. Stiller and Black are usually very good, but this trailer just didn't amuse me. The basic concept is interesting, but most of the jokes fell flat for me. The only funny line in the trailer for me was "but where does the poo go?" or something to that effect, because I'd been thinking the same thing.

A movie with dog poop as a plot point? I'm there!!!!

This is the low to which both mainstream comedy and Barry Levinson has sunk?

I don't see a problem with poo being a plot point here. The general premise, one friend makes it big, the other keeps his sucky life, is a funny one. Jack Black as wacky inventor: funny. The faux infomercial they're running: odd, but funny.

Casting wise, both Stiller and Walken are great choices. And Black's going to do what he does best, playing the wacky side character, which he did wonderfully in High Fidelity.

(Note to Dr. DVD: cool that you live in Bowling Green. I grew up in Paducah.)

Wow...Ben Stiller in another movie. He must be one of busiest guys in Hollywood. First there was Duplex, then Along Came Polly, then Starky and Hutch and now Envy. That's 4 movies like in 5 months.

it was originally slated for a summer 2003 release as I recall, my understanding it was going straight to video - guess I was wrong.

Yeah, doesnt really bode to well for the quality of the film, think they are trying to capitalize off the success they perceive Starsky and Hutch having.

I have wanted to see this film for quite some time, but the changing/delaying of release dates is usually a vote of no confidence in a film. Add to that the failure of Duplex (didnt see) and the crap that was Along Came Polly (saw) and you begin to smell a turkey.

I for one hope that I am wrong though.
