(I've never read the original novel, but read somewhere that's basically how it ended.)

EDIT: I did a web search for the heck of it and found that my spoiler section is not quite right. There's a pretty good synopsis of the storyline of the original Monkey Planet novel at H2G2:

Considering Burtons movie did'nt follow the book any more closely then the orginal one did makes the ending lame and still as implausible as ever

But the POTA Remake does have...

Spoiler:
...the astronaut leave the Monkey Planet and return to Earth to then find out that it has been taking over by Apes, which is what happens in the original novel. (While the plot twist of the Monkey Planet turning out to actually be Earth is only in the '68 film version.)

Oh yeah, that would be so sweet. I wish they would get going with the Deep Rising SE someday. It needs anamorphic so bad!

If you want anamorphic, then get the Dutch release (or any of the R2 releases).

Call it Breakable, then call the third broken. M Night wrote this as a trilogy as the first was the initiation of David Dunn. Night probably wont do it because he felt it was recieved poorly (which I disagree with). He has to realize that every movie wont gross Sixth Sense or Signs money although UB did solid at the box office.

I always wanted a sequel to Running Scared. No chance of that now, I guess. Unless they filmed it secretly, waited for one of the stars to die to cash in on sympathy money.

I also vote for an Unbreakable sequel. Loved that movie.

I think there could have been some great Young Sherlock Holmes sequels. They sure set things up for one.

That's actually a really great idea. I always wanted him to do sequels to Unbreakable, but those ideas of the sequels would be wicked awesome.

Shamalayan has debunked the rumor that Unbreakable was intended as a trilogy several times. Yet it keeps resurfacing.

How about a Spawn sequel? The movie kinda sucked, but if the producers got a better writer and more $$$ for SFX, I think it could work. People are going crazy for comic-book movies now.

Didn't Remo Williams' credits have something about a sequel also?
