I'm watching it. Although I think Orlando Bloom is a bit weak of an actor compared to the rest of the cast. Should be nice entertainment.
Getting kind of sick of Blonde' Helens though...need someone more "exotic" less Nordic if you know what I mean

I saw this trailer on the big screen...and the quicktime on the computer doesn't do it justice. This movie looks amazing. The production values are fantastic and the story is compelling. The battles that we get a brief glimpse of in the trailer look spectacular... and in all honesty, look like they could rival LOTR (again, this is just from the trailer, but that one arial shot of the two armys starting to fight has me breathless....and all the ships on the water...my God!)
I hope Wolfgang Peterson does not disappoint.

I saw it before Secret Window and it looks great, but dreamy orlando bloom looks a little light in the loafers. It's got a solid cast too, him (I think he's a good actor), bradd pitt, eric bana and of course Brian Cox. Can't wait to see it!

Either way, I think this should be pretty entertaining. I think the casting is fine, also.

Is there going to be an IMAX print or will it just be a blown up 35MM?
The only two WB films that will get IMAX DMR prints this summer belong to the third Harry Potter film and Catwoman.

Why would they waste an IMAX on Catwoman?
Saw the trailer and while it looks impressive and entertaining, it also reeks of Hollywood vanity. Brad Pitt is not playing Ulysses, he is playing Brad Pitt getting paid X-million dollars to act like Joe Black acting like Russell Crowe. Furthermore, Orlando Bloom is not convincing in the slightest with his portrayal of...who is he again? My history is a little shabby.
Oh well, being a Wolfgang Peterson movie means it will have its focus upon visuals and not story. And hey, an R rating pretty much guarantees this to be a classic guy flick for the ages, so I'll try to hit it opening night if possible.

It looks ok even with a few stars I could care less about. Eric Bana is the only one of the bunch I want to see.
The pan across the battlefield toward the end was kinda funny. I swear that some of the CGI soldiers on the right were running and almost throwing themselves at their opponents. Not sure if that was supposed to be that way but it seemed odd.
