best Morgan Freeman performance?

not the best film he was in, but the best performance he's given.

He "was" Red.

Shawshank seemed like it had been written for him.

The one where he plays a world-weary and always wise man.

I voted for Shawshank, but it was a tough choice over Lean on Me.

I voted other. If it were included in the poll, I (much like Groucho) would have voted for 'Black Guy on The Electric Company'...

HEY YOU GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSS!

We're gonna turn it on!

He was really good in Unforgiven. I voted for that, though Shawshank is right up there.

I'm having trouble deciding between the first five poll options.

Between The Shawshank Redemption, Driving Miss Daisy, and Glory. Can't make up my mind between these three.

I picked Shawshank, but I had forgotten how many great movies Morgan Freeman has been in. For so long every movie he was in was practically a classic. I hope he gets back into the swing of things soon.

Someone once said that Freeman understands the "importance of stillness" in his movies, and I agree with this. He's more powerful just sitting and saying his dialogue than an actor who goes into all kinds of mechanics and theatrics.

If it weren't for Shawshank, I would have voted for Seven...Freeman was incredible in that movie - but he just blew me away in Shawshank, so I had to vote for that one.

Incidently, I would have listed "Street Smart" on the voting list before I listed films like Robin Hood and Nurse Betty - which I basically think Morgan walked his way through.

Why isn't Dreamcatcher one of the main options???? Oh well, guess I'll have to go with Se7en, a far inferior movie.

Red in Shawshank.

He deserved to win the Oscar that year.

Man I immediately picked Shawshank becuase it's one of my favorite movies, but I should have picked Driving Miss Daisy, he channeled a old man in that one.

Where the hell is the Electric Company option? Sure I dig his later work, but man he had an impact on me as a kid.

Where is the choice for his Oscar Nominated performance in the movie "Street Smart"

It is this movie that really put him on the map after all.

Of the choices I had, I chose Unforgiven, but Shawshank was so close.
