I thought it was an outstanding movie. I gave it a 8.9/10. Like others have said, it is like Forrest Gump, but it has it's own style. It's in my Top 10 of the year, not sure where, because I saw it after I put together the list. But all in all, I thought it was VERY good.

My second favorite movie this year to only Lost in Translation. Great movie all around in my opinion. I was moved to tears and felt truly moved. Great performances and it's a shame it didn't get more recognition. I get the feeling this will find a much bigger audience on home video down the road.

I saw it about a month ago. I enjoyed it, but as time passes it doesn't really stick out for me as being memorable. It's a sweet story and I recommend it, but it falls short of being a great movie for me.

I LOVED it. I saw it on a Saturday afternoon and went to see it again on the following Monday - seeing a movie in the theater multiple times that close together is a rare thing for me. Bawled like a baby both times. Liked it enough to get the book. It's a shame it didn't get more nominations.

I finally got around to seeing this yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Well worth seeing and I'm looking forward to picking up the DVD.
I had been looking forward to Big Fish since last year when started filming. Alot of it was filmed in the town I live in. It almost takes away some of the magic seeing places I pass everday, and even the neighborhood where I live, throught the movie. All the downtown Ashton scenes were downtown Wetumpka Alabama. The bridge they showed in downtown I drive over almost everyday. I recognized alot of the river shots as well.
It's not everyday you get to see a major film shot practically in your backyard. I mean in a small town, I know if you live around Los Angeles you probably recognize places in movies all the time.

I bought it last night as a blind dvd buy I'm very pleased with it! Excellent movie! You can watch this movie and take something with you. Alot of hidden truth is in that movie. Loved it!

I went in really wanting to like this movie a lot, as I am a big fan of Burton's, but I came away generally unimpressed. Not a bad way to spend two hours but I thought it was mediocre overall. Also everytime I heard Crudup speak I thought I was watching one of those priceless Mastercard commercials.

While not a perfect film by any means, I believe it to be Burton's most mature work to date. It proves to me that he shows real promise in the future to make great masterpieces. His best early work is very quirky and very personal but often weak in the story department, here he takes the quirky and puts into a strong, well constructed story (and shows off his most loving adulation of Felini to date). He's always shown tremendous promise as well as a wise, pragmatic willingness to split his time between small personal films and big H'wood blockbusters. Thus giving himself the $ to make his personal films. Now he demonstrates that his early promise may very well evolve into a truely great artist...one of the very best American direcectors.
