Fargo, easily.

Fargo. For a lot of reasons, but mainly I find it more thematically satisfying. No Country for Old Men struck me as a little too nihilistic.

No Country for Old Men. One of the best bad guys in recent cinema. Plus I like my films a bit more "dark".

Despite the humor, Fargo is actually pretty dark in and of itself. It wouldn't take much in the way of rewrites to turn it into a crime drama a la Blood Simple.

NCFOM.
I'm from Texas. It feels very real especially for the era. The things you see that I even remember were still around later on. Just everything about it.
Fargo though...is a better film I think. Not by much but better. I just NCFOM more cuz of everything that it appeals to me.

No Country for Old Men!
I've never been a fan of Fargo despite Siskel & Ebert telling me I should be.

I can't even answer... I haven't seen either in 3 or 4 years (NCFOM right after the disc release) and Fargo... can't remember the last time I watched it. Both are great and I need to revisit them.

I can think of few movies I love more than Fargo. The second time I saw it was a German lanuage dub. Even in a foreign lanuage the movie worked superbly, surprising given how much effort the Coen's put into each of their film's dialouge. I returned next week to see it for a third time, again in German.

NCFOM, from the first scene I was completely pulled into the movie. I did not wake up until the car accident. It was mesmerizing.
