Polar Express Trailer - Tom Hanks and lots o CG

Polar Express Trailer

So, I've been looking forward to seeing actual footage from this movie. I've heard a ton about the production as my friend has been working on this, and the technology behind the visuals jsut sounded...amazing. Well...I think it looks quite incredible. And the CG Tom Hanks...quite impressively odd looking. Nonetheless...enjoy!

Looks great, but interesting how Hanks completely turned around his position on cgi people.

Looks great, and it is quite funny seeing a CGI Tom Hanks. I know my kids will definitely want to see this one.

Hanks and Zemeckis are behind it. That's all I need to know. I'm there.

Don't forget.. it's Hanks, Zemeckis AND Ralston. Can't leave Ralston out of that equation.

I went to the library today and read the book. I was struck at how close the CGI in the teaser looked to the illustrations in the book. However, it took all of 5 minutes, so it will be interesting to see how they stretch that into an 80-90 minute feature.

Considering this is a film directed by Zemeckis, I'm sure it will be at least two hours (not just 80-90 minutes). When was his last film that was less than two and a half hours? This preview looks amazing, I can't wait to see it actually at a theater instead of apple.com

Word is this movie is way over budget, possibly topping Spiderman 2 for biggest budget ever. It is a completely mo-capped movie (think Gollum but for every character) and is a completely animated movie. Looks interesting but...hopefully it's more magical and less grinch.

Dumb question, but is this considered an "animated" film? If so, I hope it beats "Shrek 2" out in that category come Oscar time. Cause both will surely be nominated. That trailer was amazing.

Yeah this has to be animated. I mean, all the backgrounds are fully CG, and all the characters are too. Sure they used mo-cap for everything, but wouldn't you call Gollum animated too?

I'm not impressed. The Playstation 3 will be able to render this movie in real time.

I don't know about the budget for this, delayed releases or anything, but I can't help but think there's something magical about this movie. The new trailer blows me away.

I think the film looks jaw-droppingly amazing. And just how many voices does Tom Hanks do in this movie???

As much as I loved this trailer, I liked the first one more simply because it had an awesome score in it. I didn't like the corny Christmas jingle that was being played over at the ending.

Can't wait for this film and to see the trailer in theaters, which will probably be attached to Harry Potter, right???

Oh my god. Their eyes... the children's eyes... make them stop staring at me with the cold, dead eyes.

Just saw the trailer and you nailed it. It's like a Christmas verison of "Village of the Damned."

I sure hope they can tweak that somewhat before the film's release.

It looks decent, but the terrible christmas song really took away from my enjoyment of the trailer. I still plan on seeing it, but hopefully it will be better than this second trailer looks.

The only character who eyes creep me out is the kid in the yellow shirt. The other main kid looks pretty good. I hope they can put enough interesting story into the movie, since the book is only 10 pages long. If you look at the book and compare it to the trailer, it looks liek some of the shots are right out of the book.

That trailer is the creepiest thing I've ever seen. Do they really think they're going to make $350 million dollars with that?
