Favorite actors/actresses
I apologize in advance if this has been done, but who are some of your favorite actors and actresses?
I guess i'll just list a top 10, since I can go on forever...
Actors -
Vincent Price
Humphrey Bogart
Lon Chaney Sr.
Peter Lorre
The Marx Brothers (Although i've always been partial to Harpo)
Peter Cushing
Charles Chaplin
Buster Keaton
Boris Karoff
Robert DiNero
Actresses -
Pam Grier
Lauren Bacall
Ingrid Bergman
Jodie Foster
Ann Sheridan
I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen any James Cagney films, but I will be buying One, Two, Three and Yankee Doodle Dandy on DVD next month and I am anxious to check out White Heat, The Public Enemy, Angels with Dirty Faces, The Roaring Twenties, and G-Men when they arrive on DVD!

DVD Talk Gold Edition
Actors (the first 2 are easy):
John Wayne
Errol Flynn
I have to give some thought as to the others. Too many classic film actors from which to choose. Maybe:
Robert Taylor
Abbott & Costello
Richard Widmark
Jeff Chandler
and all the rest who did significant work in war/Western/adventure films - Cooper, Peck, Douglas, Lancaster, etc.
Actresses:
I don't really consider myself a big fan of any actress in particular but I suppose I'd have to go with:
Olivia de Havilland (because she was in so many Flynn films)
Maureen O'Sullivan (Jane from the early Tarzan films)
Maureen O'Hara (because of her work with Wayne)
Virginia Mayo - Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Princess and the Pirate, The Best Years of Our Lives, Colorado Territory, Horatio Hornblower
After recently watching Mogambo on TCM, I find myself a bit smitten with the character of Eloise Kelly as played by Ava Gardner. I wouldn't have guessed it to be the case but Gardner completely overshadowed Grace Kelly. Also (and once again thanks to TCM!), Faye Dunaway is pretty high on my list right now (I'll have to keep her in mind for the next time we do a "Most Beautiful Actress" thread). She was incredible in Bonnie & Clyde and The Thomas Crown Affair.
edited to add: Welcome aboard Fred C. Dobbs!

Re: Favorite actors/actresses
I'm too lazy to construct a long list, but two of my favourite actors are taciturn tough guy Lino Ventura and detached Polish intellectual Zbigniew Zapasiewicz, or rather, those are the character types they often played.
