Wow, old thread.
One summer night in 1977, my parents took the family to the drive-in to see DAY OF THE ANIMALS. I'm guessing that most people didn't go to see this film. Why? Because it opened the exact same day as STAR WARS did. Most people probably went and saw SW instead that opening weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't. (and with that kind of competition, DAY OF THE ANIMALS probably didn't last much more than a week in theatres. And yes, I did eventually get to see STAR WARS that summer )

I have Day Of The Animals on DVD, but not Star Wars
I was one of 5 people at a showing of Miracle Mile, which opened in this area the same day as Batman.
I worked as a projectionist from 1992-2001, and saw everything out during that time, there were tons of movies that hardly anybody came to.

I saw Transformers. It upset me because they cursed and died in it! After the first death (of that red/grey iron autobot) my friend and I just looked at each other like what did we get ourselves into.
Guess when you watch the TV show plus GI Joe and He-Man you get used to seeing everyone fight all day yet never suffer any injury.

Wow, so I'm not the only one that had to suffer through that.

Anyone else see The Sword and the Sorcerer or Warlords of the 21st Century (aka Battletruck) in a theater back in 1982?
