Film to spoof the L.A. Riots

There is a film being developed, starring the likes of Charles S. Dutton, T.K. Carter, and Emilio Estevez, that plans to spoof the L.A. Riots. Now, I love Dutton and Carter ( Who was excellent in HBO's The Corner ), but this sounds like the WORST IDEA EVER. What an inappropriate subject to poke fun at. I can't wait for the spoof of Ruby Ridge.

Wow. This just sounds like a bad idea on all levels. Not only is it inapproprate, but horribly dated as well. What's next, a new OJ trial spoof? For crying out loud, In Living Color covered what little comic material there was on this topic ten years ago.

To be fair, the linked article dosen't give a whole lot of information of what kind of movie this is going to be. I didn't read anything that says for certain this is going to be a zany-Airplane! style 'spoof'. I think it would be fair to call Dr. Strangelove a 'spoof' on the cold war. Yet the film is still legitimently funny and intelligent.
On the other hand, all your points are valid, and maybe I've been smashed upside the head with a brick to think that this could be a good idea.

Well, if this goes over fine with people then we might get a rip-roarin 9/11 based comedy!
*That was sarcasm*
While I love a good comedy, this might not be the best thing to do right now.
