Well, if I'm not bothering all night by trick-or-treaters at my door, I might watch these.

I always love the Halloween season, they always play the greatest films on TCM. I've been hoping to see some cheap classic horror films at Walmart or Circuit city so i can pick them up. This is the first year i have the Halloween dvd, i usually watched my Criterion LD of that on Halloween, but usually i just watch the Universal Classic on the TCM channel. Though i may rent some this if i don't have to work, but since its on a friday this year, and fridays are the second busiest days for where i work, i'll probably be there all night.

I just can't imagine anyone not including the original "The Haunting" on their Halloween must-see list. The 1967 haunted house story is, in my humble opinion, the greatest ghost story ever put on film. I'm seeing things on other people's lists like "Ghost Ship" and "Blair Witch Project," while this film is not even mentioned (except by SAMUEL). If you haven't seen it, buy it by all means (just released on DVD in August).

You're right. It is '63 not '67. I was just basing it on post from SAMUEL. Excuse my laziness.

I'm going to have some friends over and plan to show them films they have never seen, and/or never even heard of so I'll be staying away from the standard Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc... type films. I'll submit a list to them with different categories asking them which films they have seen and will pick from the remaining ones. Something like:
Classics:
The Haunting (1963), The Changeling, Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, The Omen, The Exorcist.
- This will be the hardest but I'm pretty sure none of them will have seen The Haunting and maybe The Changeling.
Italian:
Suspiria, The Beyond, Dellamorte Dellamore, Twitch of the Death Nerve, Cannibal Holocaust.
Asian:
Dark Waters, Kairo, The Eye, Ju-On: The Grudge, The Phone
Horror/Gore:
Dead Alive, Re-Animator, Evil Dead II, Necromantik, Day of the Dead.
When I'm sure about who will be coming I might adjust my choices since I don't want anyone to puke on my carpet. []

For the big day Halloween 1 and 2 is a given, but other than that I have no idea.
Will probably narrow it down to a couple of these:
Halloween 4 and 7
Evil Dead Trilogy
The Howling
The Exorcist
City of the Living Dead
The Beyond
The Eye
Prince of Darkness
The Thing (Either)
The Hills Have Eyes
Horor of Dracula
The Omen
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Phantasm
The Fog
The Thing (original and remake)
Fright Night
The Blob (remake)
Treehouse of Horror DVD
The Return of the Living Dead
Dead Alive
Opera
Re-Animator
The Shining
Young Frankenstein
28 Days Later
House of 1000 Corpses
Maybe something from the Universal Clasic Monsters Set

Although I would have to add the original "Halloween." Given that the holiday itself is the main timeframe, it's a no-brainer. And a damn scary film, to boot.
