This sucks. The routine he does when he sings Make 'em Laugh in Singin' in the Rain is one of the best. It never failed to Make Me Laugh when he tries to run up that last wall and goes right through it.

Rest in Peace, Donald.

Complete suckage. I just got done defending Singin' in the Rain as one of the greatest American pictures ever with some coworkers yesterday. I first saw him in Francis, a silly but fun film series, and have loved his work ever since. He made a lot of people smile.

He's from my hometown and my mom's uncle went to school with him.

I JUST(within the last month) discovered Singin in the Rain in the last month, and I've been on a Kelly binge ever since. But I also planned to delve into Donald O'Connor's back cataglougue, I thought he was so sensational in the film. I'm suprised he's not better known(and 50's movie fans, calm down, I knew Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, but never heard of O'Connor, who for one role, looked just as talented dancewise).

RIP Donald, I hardly knew ya, but was glad I got to appreciate you when you were with us!

He gets Marilyn Monroe in There's No Business Like Show Business, which also gave him a chance to show off his talent both as a comedian and dancer.

My kids' favorite scene from any movie is Make 'Em Laugh.
I too thought he had already passed.

And for those keeping score, he's the third, Palmer, Plimpton and O'Conner.
