should James Bond be replaced in the next film?

As many already know, Peirce Brosnan will most likely be replaced in the next bond move. Peirce has said that he would like to do one more. Opinions?

Frankly, I really like Brosnan as 007. I've heard other people expressing opinions to the contrary, but I personally think he's fantastic. So - I would be happy to keep him on as long as he wants to do it.

I thought Brosnan has already signed to do the next Bond movie, and that will be his last. Also there's a bunch of other threads around here on who would be a good Bond already if you do a search.

I never have liked Peirce Brosnan as Bond so I'm ready for him to go.

Brosnan is great as Bond, and could stick with it for two or three more films easily wihout losing any credibility in the role.

Gimme one more with Brosnan, but this time bring back Wai Lin (Michelle Yoeh) as promised.

Actually, I like him as Bond. He seems to gave grown into the roll. To me it is just this latest Bond and a little in the previous one that show both the stereo typical Bond, and the nice little personality traits that Pierce brings to it.

I say give him at least one more. But I wouldn't mind if he did a couple more...

Pierce is a good Bond.... he is the 21st century kind of Bond
it just the story & the way they made the movies (lately) is the one that make me.... kind of tired of Bond.

but yeah, i do like him as a Bond...
but i still think that Dalton is the perfect Bond (too bad he only did 2 series though)

How do these "many" know that Brosnan will be replaced in the next film when he already signed on to do it? He'll probably be gone after this next one, even though as long as his Bond films are $100 million goldmines, MGM/UA would probably love to keep him.

I'd like to see Brosnan do a few more Bond films. He's great in the role. As long as there is a worthy replacement, I'll be happy.

I don't know what the original post is talking about. Brosnan is free to do the Bond films for as long as he likes. Nobody's looking for fire him.

I'd like to see Brosnan do the next one and then get out. Not that I think he'd be bad in one beyond that, but the track record of the Bond films after a particular actor has done their fifth isn't that good. Connery came back for a sixth and we got "Diamonds are Forever". With Moore, we were treated to "Octopussy" and "A View to a Kill". Of those three, "Octopussy" was the only one anywhere near watchable and Moore was already looking too old to be doing what he was doing in it. I'd hate to see Brosnan hit that point where his movies actually start to look as old as he really is. Better to do one more good one and get out while he's still on top.

I'm down with Brosnan til he quits. I like him.

so the age old adage, who should be next. I know there is an online campaign for it, but I like the idea of Adrian Paul. But he is probably too unkown for a role like this. The next bond needs a little recognizabliity factor.

After Brosnan's next Bond film, the one after that definitely has to come out 2007, because there's not way MGM/UA would miss that marketing opportunity. That's probably when the new Bond will come into play. Christian Bale?

Pierce is doing fine. It's the quality of the last couple of 007 movies that needs refining.
