Some help naming this pirate movie...

I remember seeing a pirate flick when i was younger, It was in colour and had a pirate ship/crew & our hero fighting against a lord or baron, (think it was set around france?? ).
Our hero had help from a black actor who was a knife specialist, I think he may have been played by the voodoo witchdoctor from "live & let Die".
The Baron had a male servant who liked to kill people with metal clawed gloves, He was killed with a pillow while attacking our hero on a flight of stairs.

Can someone help me with the title & if it is avaliable on video or DVD.
Thanks.
Jeremy

Is it "The Crimson Pirate"? It's on DVD.

It's definitely not The Crimson Pirate, and I have no idea what it is, but this struck me as quite amusing:

"He was killed with a pillow while attacking our hero on a flight of stairs."

Could it be Swashbuckler with Robert Shaw?

Side note: I did a search on Geoffrey Holder (the "Uncola" guy from Live and Let Die) and was surprised to learn that he's not only still alive, but he does a voice for one of my daughter's favorite shows "Bear in the Big Blue House."

The way it happened...
" The male servant who liked to kill people with metal clawed gloves is attacking our hero walking down a flight of stairs when our hero tosses a pillow at his feet, causing him to trip and fall onto his claws, killing him."

Cheers.
