I have to respectfully disagree about the boring part. Azkaban had:

Spoiler:

- Dementors
- Actual defense against Dark Arts classes with Lupin
- the Marauder's Map
- Sirius/The Grim
- the Firebolt!
- the Time Turner
- one of the biggest whoppers of all time(you know what I'm talking about)
- Gryffindor finally winning the Quidditch Cup! (I actually shed a tear when that happened)
- Divination with Trelawney and Ron/Harry's hilarious "deaths"

And a whole slew of others.
Goblet of Fire is on a whole other plane of literary existence though.

That is what I am talking about. It has been established that the wizarding world co-exists with the muggle(normal) world. They have to go to a muggle train station to board their train, Hogwarts needs charms on it so that muggles won't find it. By this reasoning who's to say it doesn't exist! Seriously though, if you remember in Goblet of Fire their was a huge fuss made about wizards wearing muggle clothes going to the Quiddich Cup. Some were good at dressing like muggles, Mr. Weasley and Mr. Crouch, others were very bad, Ludo Bagman and Mundungus Fletcher. Because this has been established in the books I do not mind the change, however minor, in the movie.

IMO, A change made in a movie, based off some other source material, is fine as long as it is within the context of the source material. As a long time comic fan that same philosophy is the reason why I have not had a problem with any changes made to the more recent comic films...except for that horrifying Superman script. Of course changes made from book to movie is a whole other thread.

However; I would be very upset if Aragorn appeared in LOTR in jeans and a T-Shirt and carrying a gun instead of a sword. The reason for this is because LOTR makes NO reference to a "real" world co-existing with a "fantasy" world. To each their own though.

Is that really 'one of the biggest of all time'? It's not like they even made mention of Peter until book 3, if memory serves me correctly.

Does anybody know who is doing the special effects for this one? Is it the same company as the first two (or was it eve the same company for 1 and 2)? Reason I ask is twofold. One, I hope to see any quidditch scense improved. Two, I hope dobby looks better - he wasn't bad, but he looked like a puppet next to Gollum!

Well, that's just great. You have just succeeded in ruining the entire LOTR franchise for me. I now have a vision permanently stuck in my head of Aragorn, in jeans and t-shirt, carrying a shotgun, striding up to the Black Gate, yelling "THIS... is my BOOMSTICK!"

IMO, yes. I mean who would've thought
Spoiler:
that Ron's pet rat was going to turn out to be one of Harry's father's friends AND a follower of Voldy?

Why, what would you consider to be a BIG one? Not trying to start anything mind you, just asking.

Hmmm...I know Sony Imageworks was the top house for Sorcerer but ILM and some other houses worked on it as well for some of the other f/x shots. (i.e. Norbert the Dragon, Voldy at the end)
For Chamber ILM got top bunk and did most of it I believe.
I haven't heard anything for Azkaban. I don't think Quidditch can be significantly improved though. I mean, it's kids on broomsticks. You can't do live stunts cuz it's too dangerous I think and motion capture still leaves a lot to be desired especially when you're dealing with multiple characters which is the reason they only focused on Harry and Malfoy in Chamber. Plus, it's a fast game. It's supposed to be blurry and fast paced. And I heard Cuaron's not too crazy about it either and almost didn't film any.
As for Dobby, is he even in Azkaban? I don't remember him being in that one. I think he looked fine in Chamber too.

Yes, but in this movie
Spoiler:
since Wood's character is not in it, I am afraid this will be glossed over. Wood finally winning was my favorite moment of the books so far.

They cut Wood out? But.. they'd have to cut Quidditch altogether?!

You bet your ass that Prisoner is the best. It had the best characters, the best plot, and the best ending. I loved book 4 also but hated book 5.

I kind of hold book 4 and 5 on equal.. can't really make an opinion I'll need to read them both again. But 3, the best.. no contest.

It just seemed sudden and not really built up to be a 'whopper'.

I wasn't sure if you were referring to 'big ones' in the sense of Harry Potter or literatrue. Either way, my mind is drawing a blank on both right now.
