Read a little more thoroughly. There is also a link provided to TheForce.net that is still functional.

BTW, it seems another Batman fan-film premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con. It's titled The Death Of Batman. I'm downloading the trailer right now from here: http://www.christopherstapleton.net/23992_43576.asp

The theforce.net link now includes an svcd-encode of the film, plus a behind the scenes film.

Ugh.

Was so excited to see it and now I'm amazed it was so well recieved. I'm sure many people saw good things in it.

Just not me.
It was a waste of film, money and time.

The concept was a mixture of too many things. As seperate pieces I like them but they make a very bad combination.

Oh, is that why I keep getting an error on it? I have to burn it to svcd?

Is the new .mpg file taken straight from the DVD (as apparently the .mov file was) or did they just convert the .mov file to .mpg? I ask because theirMB estimate on the page is exactly howlarge the filebecame when I converted it to .mpg and the quality was okay since the .mov file was so small. Does this new .mpg file indeed look better?

How does that relate to Batman: Dead End?

I took the .mov file and reencoded it. I took the mpeg file and reencoded it. The latter looks much better on my big screen.

Wow.

Watch it again, and be amazed at the terriblosity.

It's so awful. Bad Batman costume, terrible Joker makeup (look at the eyebrows!), poor fight scenes, plods along with ridiculous style shots... it's really bad!

Naturally, I made a VCD and am now passing it around amongst friends.

A lot of people seem to be complaining about the Batman costume. But, it was inspired by one of the best comic artists today, Alex Ross. Comparing the below images, I think they did an incredible job given a $30,000 budget.

"Wow, you must not like th costume because you're ignorant".

I (and most other people here) know who Ross is, thank you. And I'm sure you know there's a big difference between a beautiful painting and a bodybuilder in a grey bodystocking.

I have a yellow T-shirt from when I was younger. Now, it's tight 'n' all, but if Clark Bertram puts it on and duct-tapes knives to his hands, he won't look like Wolverine. He'd look like some guy in a tight yellow shirt with knives stuck to his hands. And in this Batman 'film' (which I adore for its incredible crappiness), CB looks like some guy in a grey bodystocking.

Yeah, that strikes fear into my heart. Sure does.

I'm not saying the grey-and-black couldn't work (could be worse - could you imagine a bright blue cape?), but it looks absolutely silly in this short.

I'm not calling anybody ignorant, just pointing out something. If you still find that to be an insult, then fine.

As for the costume, let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I never liked Alex Ross' artwork... and looking at that rendition of Batman, even that just doesn't feel right to me. The film matches the picture very well though. Great for the film since that's what they were going for, but it still looks a bit silly

I thought the writing was kind of cheesy, but maybe that was the acting. It had a lot of potential for the budget it was done on, but I just don't see WB handing over a big franchise to have it done by guys no one has really heard of. Even if they were given a shot they would probably be forced to attach a few big stars to the picture. I just wish Warner would realize that just having a decent Batman picture would be enough of a draw.

Since no one seems to care, I thought I'd mention that the director is far from an obscure fan. He's a Hollywood pro, who has worked on many sci-fi films, mainly as an effects guy.
