Longest Running Movie Series?

Let's see ---

James Bond has 20

Star Trek has 10, right?

a lot of the horror movies have tons - like Friday the 13th...

What is the longest? What are some of the longer ones?

I thought the House series used to be in the Guiness Book of records for the most sequels, but ilooked it up and they don't seem to have that many film. But whater it was it had 10 orr 11 sequels, so with Freddy Vs. Jason, so the F13 series is tied with that now. Thats counting sequels not series like Bond.

Oh yeah the Witchcraft films have like 10 sequels too i believe.

The Carry On series in Britain 30 films from Carry On Sergeant (1958) and finishing up with Carry On Emmannuelle (1978) plus one in 1992 Carry on Columbus.

The Three Stooges went from 1930 (Soup to Nuts) to 1965 (The Outlaws is Coming, plus Kooks Tour in 1970. Well over 200 films.

More than that. Once Upon a Time in China was the 100th film in the series.

Duplicate thread...

The answer is Wong Fei Hung movies...

Quote:
In 1949, the spirit of Wong Fei Hung would come in the cinema at a time where the film market in Asia was going down due to the effects of World War II. Enter opera star and actor Kwan Tak Hing, who played the role of Master Wong in a series of...99 films?! The series lasted 21 years, ending in 1970. But that did not stop the ageless Kwan, who would continue his tenure for another 11 years, his final WFH performance in 1981's Dreadnaught. In fact, Kwan became so into the role of the master that he himself ran a pharmacy where he also taught martial arts. Sadly, at the age of 91, Kwan Tak Hing died in 1997

Doesn't specify full length features, just film series. Regardless, even for 2 reelers, they went longer than just about anybody. Laurel & Hardy, Chaplin, Keaton, Our Gang, Abbott & Costello, Martin & Lewis. Other performers might have been in films as long or longer, but few played basically the same series as long.

The Police Acadamy series wins hands-down. It may not have the most sequels, but watching each one is an eternity.
