Need help with title of Japanese film
The film came out in last 5 years or so. Story of a detective investigating a series of murders committed by random people that were only related to each other in that they all came in contact with the same strange, homeless man before they killed. Any help with title?

I'm not sure offhand (at least the part with the homeless man).
The only ones related to seemingly unrelated/random killings would be Another Heaven or Cure.
Either of those sound familiar?

DVD Talk Hero
definitely sounds like 1997's Kyua (Cure) to me.
Sundance used to show this flick on occasion, along with another heaven, audition, and a few others (they had a Japanese Horror month a while back.)
Edit: Here is the synopsis from IMDB.com

A wave of gruesome murders is sweeping Tokyo. The only connection is a bloody "X" carved into the neck of each of the victims. In each case the murderer is found near the victim and remembers nothing of the crime. Detective Takabe and psychiatrist Sakuma are called in to figure out the connection but their investigation goes nowhere. An odd, young man is arrested near the scene of the latest murder, who has a strange effect on everyone who comes into contact with him. Detective Takabe starts a series of interrogations to determine the man's connection with the killings.

Cure (Kyua), that's it. Thanks very much. I was wrong about the homeless part.
edit: and thanks to Rich also.
Rats! No DVD. No Video. But, good for the Sundance Channel. They are all right.
