Well, the first one was garbage, so it wouldn't he hard to make a film that looks better.

This sequel looks like crap anyway. 2 Fast 2 Furious? Oh, puhleeze!

Hmm...I dunno. I thought otherwise. I'll have to wait for the next trailer but so far this didn't feel like a sequel to the first movie.

Hard to say if this movie is going to bomb or not without Diesel, but according to the trailer, it "should" be a fun movie.

It could be good dumb fun like the first, but no Rob Cohen and Vin Diesel has my expectations at a low.

You say that as if the first one was any good. It's only my opinion, but TFATF was the worse movie I had seen that year!! And I love action-adventure type movies. My best friend is a "car guy" (spent $50k rebuliding a 81 Camaro and races it) and he thought it was a big pile of doo doo. The car races in this film were TERRIBLE!!!

XXX was ok dough. At least that one had some cool stunts.

It will probably be a success at the box office, and it will most likely be better than the first. But that's no difficult thing to accomplish, heh. The name is definitely one of the worst I have ever seen though, 2 Fast 2 Furious? WTF

purplechoe,

What did you think of Driven?

I think everyone is trying to do the 60 Seconds thing in some way or another. Tiz a shame.

I didn't go see the first one because of Vin Diesal and my vast enjoyment of the film wasn't in any way linked to Vin Diesal's performance, so I'm looking forward to this one and from the trailer it looks like they've brought back the same formula and amped it up a bit....all fine by me!

Rob Cohen isn't an irreplaceable creative genius...I'm sure they'll be fine without him. I mean the man directed The Skulls!!!

Doesn't John Singleton direct this new sequel? In my opinion, he's a way better director than Rob Cohen. The trailer looks o.k., kinda cartoony for some reason (guess it's all the bright colors and camera motions). Last 10 seconds were really cool though. I'll probably go see this in theaters (wasn't a big fan of the original).

I disliked the first and this looks to be more of the same - but worse.

This movie will bomb because of the simple fact that Vin Diesel isn't in it, so housewives 13 year old girls will have nothing to drool over, like the first one

One of my friends is a "car guy" and he loved this movie. I liked it when I saw it in theaters for what it was, but after seeing it on DVD I wasn't impressed that much. The first big race scene now comes across as almost pathetic. Somehow they drive their cars in the 100's for what seems like forever on an endless road, yet spectators are lined up on both sides of the street for its entirity. Also, those from the start of the race make it down the street right after the race finishes. Couple other little things bother me too about this race too. I haven't seen Point Break, so I'll probably watch that instead of Fast & the Furious 2 when the time comes. I won't be seeing the sequel for damn sure.

When Rob Cohen is directing something, I usually try to avoid it. Yes, I liked the first Fast and the Furious and xXx... but his other films (Daylight, Dragonheart, and The Skulls) are pretty awful.

Vin Diesel will be missed, but for the fact that a director with a perfect track record (so far anyway) was brought in, my expectations have been raised. It's also nice to see the film will contain more action than that of the first one. And also more hot women.

Expansion of time to further dramatize the events....all movies do it.

As for car guys digging it.....I could see how a guy who spent 50k rebuilding an old Camaro wouldn't like it. Car guys are like movie guys, they don't all like the same kind of movie. TF&F was about import street racing, mostly Asian imports.

Talk to muscle car guys and Euro car guys, they all hated it....why, they hate Asian cars! (Not all, but the opininiate type you find on the net)

I have to admit even though I didnt see the first one in the theatre I rented it on DVD to see what all the talk was about.
Its was another crap movie from Rob Cohen about men with a lot of Tostosterone and who were in love with themselves and their cars. It was like a gay porno without the sex. I kept waiting for them to attach each other or something but I didnt even have that much luck.
Shirts off, lots of hugging and car chases....
Thats it.

Why is Paul Walker doing this?
Hes going to find himself washed up in a few years if he keeps picking them like this.

John Singleton directed this? Wasnt he hailed as an up and coming director ten years ago and now hes doing this?

You have to be kidding me.. The first one actually had decent cars and everything.. The trailer for this one just looks terrible. We went from Supras and RX7s and Eclipses to Lancers and Eclipse Spyders and pink S2000s. Please!

I will go see it because I enjoyed the first one so much, but I'm pretty sure it will suck and I won't be buying the DVD.

i've read in magazines that they're going to have R34 Skyline this time... hopefully not another cameo like the first one.

i'd say just wait till the DVD comes saves you the money & doubt for other cool movies coming up this summer

just trying to help

2 Fast 2 Furious

Came back from the screening... I admit I went in with very low expectations but it was a very enjoyable movie! At the very least, it was much better than the first. Acting was pretty bad, but Tyrese's performance actually surprised me - believable and humorous to boot. The cars... oh my.... unbelievable!

I recommend everyone who enjoyed the first to definitely check this one out. Even non-fans might be able to enjoy it... at the very least it's a great popcorn summer movie with loads of action!

All that I'm looking for in this movie is the cars. I expect the acting to be poor. Looks like I'll enjoy it!

I actually thought the last trailer i saw wasn't too bad. Not that i'll watch it in theaters, but most people liked the first one because of the cars... this one should be no different, Vin or no Vin.
