Put the Matrix Code on your desktop

Hey you guys. Just thought I'd share this little program I found online called "zmatrix" to the Matrix fans here. It's an animated desktop background which displays the streaming Matrix Code on your monitor similar to the way you see it in the movie. There are configuration options and you can even set it as your screensaver. I have to say it's pretty cool. Check it out:

It is. I'm still playing around with it and I just discovered you can add your own special text to it. It already comes with a default one: "The matrix has you" which you can catch in white txt among all the green ones. I added my own "Free your mind".

What other txt could we add to this?

GREAT find

And combine it with the screensaver that CKMorpheus found here and the Matrix will definitely have you...

I missed that one before. Thanks Rogue. I kinda like this one's screensaver option a li'l bit more though cuz the transition from desktop background to screensaver is almost seamless. When it kicks into Screen saver mode, you'll just see your windows, icons, and anything else on your desktop being "eaten" by the code.

Cool $hit.

damn, you beat me to it.

Also download the bonus backgrounds. The original 4 or so get boring after a while.

To be honest, I'm not that impressed. I really like the idea, but this particular rendition has it's flaws. For one, the characters do not look like the characters in the actual movie Matrix code. It looks like the person who developed the desktop thing just did the best he could. Also, the hidden message text font doesn't really match. The default is the System font, which doesn't appear like it blends in, to me at least. I know you can change the font, but no other font works for me, either.

I guess the analogy could be made that everybody here who loves the desktop is content to live in ignorance inside the matrix, while I'm in the 1% that wakes up and lives in Zion

That being said, I absolutely love one of the screensavers mentioned in the other thread.

Did you try dremples? If you like the idea, but want a better execution, try that. It's a bit extreme, but shows what can be done with the idea.
