Alien re-release & series continuity
Most people know of the Alien re-release to theaters & Alien Quadrilogy boxset coming out that includes cut footage integrated back into the film.
Most of this footage is dialogue and extended scenes, with the exception of the scene where Ripley finds Dallas & Brett cocooned and apparently mutating into eggs.
If this footage is restored, this would totally screw up the continuity with the other films, wouldn't it? There would be no need for a queen if an Alien warrior could create it's own eggs from it's victims.
