Has a movie ever garnered as much discussion as Reloaded?

Seeing so many posts here, everyone posting there theories on what will happen in Revolutions got me thinking. Have you ever partaken in a discussion about a movie as much as the Matrix and Matrix Reloaded? Sure, there have been some long Donnie Darko posts but that's pretty much it. Now, I know Reloaded is far from having the deepest intellectual statements but its still a great movie that provides great eye candy to put people in the seats and makes you wonder about what will happen next. Usually those 2 qualities don't go hand and hand.

In my long history of discussing movies on the Internet, including time before the World Wide Web and DVDTalk, I have not seen any new release garner more discussion than The Sixth Sense. Take that how you will.

I would say easily STAR WARS and all its incarnations...as well as STAR TREK.

Yes Sixth Sense was huge with internet chatter...

how about THE RING/RINGU? A lot with the film too...with dedicated forums just to discuss the film.

I think the winner for this is still Star Wars/Luca$ bashing. I mean, this board is only temporary but we have a Luca$ bashing thread almost every week. Just ask Jackskeleton.

American Pie

If I recall correctly there were about 12 threads each 10 pages long devoted to the discussion about if Oz lost his virginity or not. The debate rages on to this day . . .

Oh god. OZ LOST HIS VIRGINTY! Just because he doesn't boast about it doesn't mean anything. They were sitting naked on a chair at the end of the night... Do you need to see penitration?

ha ha, as much as I love the matrix.. it is indeed the "fad" of the moment. that is why there is a forum for it just because it will flood the normal movie talk board. this forum will disappear soon.

Star Wars Ep 1.

It was talked about incessantly for 2 DECADES before its release. Obviously not all of this was online, but I doubt anything can match it.
