Think BTTF 2 . . . we could follow the action of the Titanic sinking through the eyes of another couple on board. Perhaps Leonardo and Kate could make a few cameo appearances as the new couple's plot line intersects with Jack and Rose's timeline. It would probably go down as the worst sequel ever made, besides Caddyshack 2, but it was the biggest money maker of all time, and in Hollywood money is all that matters.

That makes sense. When the movie was still on theatre, I heard a rumor that James Cameron is actually making a sequel to Titanic, and the rumor says that
Spoiler:
Jack somehow survives
. Of course, I never bought that rumor.

And speaking of which, look what I found here:

I don't know whether that is legit or not. But anyway, that's a shameful act.

That would make some serious bank, and just imagine if they got Ben and J-Lo involved. The movie would be pissing money.

Ummm... yeah, I did kind of let my love for this movie override my (old obsolete fading) memory. That would make this film fall into the category of "logically could not have a sequel".

Also, I seem to recall some kind of "prequel" to Butch Cassidy being released at some point. Anyone out there got a title for this?

There were TWO sequels to BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, as well as a prequel.

The sequels were MRS. SUNDANCE, starring Elizabeth (Bewitched) Montgomery and WANTED: THE SUNDANCE WOMAN with original star Katherine Ross. Both of these aired on TV in the mid 70s.

BUTCH AND SUNDANCE: THE EARLY YEARS opened theatrically in 1979 or 1980.

Mystery Men never got it's sequel. Flaming Carrot was reportedly supposed to make his feature film debut, and that would have totally rocked.

Unbreakable. Still waiting for Breakable and Broken.

Who wouldn't have wanted to see the further adventures of Doug and Bob MacKenzie in a sequel to Strange Brew?

ET. There was a sequel in novel form. And speaking of movies with sequels in novel form only (so far) when will we see the remaining two books in the 2001 and 2010 series made?

The Graduate is supposedly still in talks to have a sequel. It would be great if they could do it before the original cast members die off.

Gotta agree with you on both of those... or they should a least give The Shoveler a spin-off.

Remo Williams, Big Trouble in Little China, and Strange Brew are all great ideas - and could probably still be made IMO.

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers these.

The Early Years featured Tom Berenger and William Katt.

I know it doesnt really fit the criteria of this thread, but I've always wondered why they never made a Ghostbusters 3. I think they could still make this movie, and have success.

Whatever happened to Independence Day 2. I was looking forward to it 5 minutes after seeing the first one.

E.T. sequel. Always wanted to see that.

Mystery Men 2, Definitely!!

Forrest Gump 2. I have no idea what it would be like, but I sure would like to see more of Forrest.

Titanic 2 idea: "The Search For The Necklace" Blahhhh

Biggest Hope (fingers crossed) Lord Of The Rings Prequel: The Hobbit

Of course, it wouldn't work if Ian McKellen didn't sign.

It would be so great to see Beorn on the big screen!! Still, my favorite character.

Rumor was that Dan Akroyd would have loved to have done a third one where the "old" Ghostbusters were ousted by a new, younger version - but the "old" guys had to come back and save the day. However, neither he nor Harold Ramis wanted to do the movie without Bill Murray, and apparantly, Bill Murray did not want to do another Ghostbusters film.
