Opinion... why the R rating in the US?

Not much nudity at all and the violence wasn't as bad as Mortal Kombat which got a PG-13.

I saw a quote somewhere (maybe from one the directors) that said kung-fu kicks to the head result in a automatic R rating. That doesn't explain why MK got a PG-13 rating though...

We were wondering that too as we walked out of hte theater. There wasn't anything I haven't seen in a PG-13 movie. And the only "nudity" i can think of was being able to see through a couple of women's shirts during the rave scene.

I heard that quote as well. I believe it has to do with how realistically it is portrayed and how much the combatants resemble normal people.

To be honest I think the first season of the Shield showed just as much Nudity and Violence.

There's not much nudity going on in the sex scene but it is still pretty explicit.

The found that The Architect's never-ending speech was putting young kids to sleep, and decided it was easier to just bar them from the theater altogether.

I think I could have made it through my days on this planet without having to see Keanu Reeves' O-face.
