Dialouge mistakes in movies?
I know there's many movie mistakes during production, but what about dialogue mistakes? Has anyone noticed any scripting problems during characters dialogue when talking?
I think I noticed one in the Coen Bros. "O Brother Where Art Thou".
It's the scene where Delmar and Everrett are watching a movie in a theater, these prisoners come in to watch the movie. Delmar turns around and notices Pete sitting a few rows behind Delmar and Everett. Pete goes "Do not seek the treasure....", and then Delmar goes "We thought you were turned into a toad...", Pete goes, "Do not seek the treasure"....and then Delmar repeats the same "Toad" sentence over again.
Shouldn't Delmar be saying "I thought you were turned into a toad" instead of "We...."? I mean, Delmar knows that Everett always disagreed that the Toad wasn't Pete. That one dialogue right there didn't make sense, I thought that was a little plot hole in the script.

You're forgetting one thing: Delmar's an idiot.
Or he might have taken Everett's allowing him to bring the toad as admission that he believed Pete was a toad.

In Boogie Nights, William H. Macy's character says to Ricky Jay's character, my wife has an *** in her ****. (He should be saying the second word before the first word, because one goes into the other). I don't know if it's supposed to be a mistake or not, since Macy's character is really upset and nervous, and could make a mistake like that in that situation.

I listened to the Boogie Nights audio commentary during that scene, hoping for an explanation. (There was none given, however.) That line has always annoyed me.

in Living in Oblivion, a light explodes and a character says "Is everbody hurt? Is anybody ok?" Obviously it should be reversed, but like the Boogie Nights line, it kinda fits the scene somehow. Not to mention the whole movie revolves around flubbing lines, etc. Maybe it's a very clever in-joke?

In "Quiz Show", when Dick and Charlie are talking.
Charlie says something akin to: "would you take tons of money and fame, just to lie a little on TV?"
Dick: No
Charlie: And I would.
But this is written as "And I would?"

Regarding the Boogie Nights line...
I remember reading that the line was actual flubbed by William H. Macey, but PTA decided to keep it because it fit better with the character's state of mind in the scene.
In any case, I think the line works well.

In Die Hard, Bruce Willis is taunting Hans over the radio by saying, "I'm the fly in the ointment, the monkey in the wrench."
The monkey in the wrench?
When you foul something up, you're said to throw "a monkey wrench in the works", not a monkey in a wrench.
Honk!

Doesn't Michael Douglas call Devito's character "Devito", rather than the character's name in a scene in The War Of the Roses? Or has that been expunged...
