Joyride question and thoughts (spoilers)
OK... I saw Joyride last night, and thought it was decent- good thriller that keeps you guessing, but is kind of predictable in outcome and has a few "why did they do that?" moments.
Anyway, throughout the movie, I thought "Rusty Nail" was the cop who gave Lewis the ticket for the U-turn and tail light at the start of the movie. Rusty Nail tells them to fix their tail light after Lewis uses his real voice over the radio to explain that there was no "candy cane" At that point, I thought the cop recognized Lewis's voice, and thus spooked them about knowing they had a broken tail light.
Thoughts?

I thought it was a very well-made thriller. Sharp direction and some witty humor. As far as Rusty Nail goes, all I can say is to Ted Levine for providing that creepy voice!

This movie was a great surprise when I rented it. Steve Zahn makes me laugh out loud!
Anyway, is it possible that "Rusty Nail" spotted Lewis' car outside the motel the night they played the prank on him. I mean Lewis' car was right out front with a long C.B. antennae sticking out of the hood. After "Rusty Nail" realized it was a prank it would have been natural for him to look around the motel parking lot for the pranksters...Just my theory.

Uh..didn't they show Rusty Nail at the end (though not real clearly)? Did he resemble the cop at all? I only saw it once, and don't remember the cop, but I remember Rusty was rather portly and had a messed up face. I think the boys would have recognized him as the cop. Plus, I don't think you get that messed up and funky in just a few days. I think Rusty had been living in a hole for quite a few years.

As much as I like Eric Roberts, his voice tests were not very good.
Funny though.
