Godzilla vs. Hedorah. And, yes, I'm pretty certain this one's coming out this fall.

October 19th to be exact.

In case anyone here hasn't heard the unconfirmed (by Toho) report that Godzilla will face his sludgy foe on the IMAX screen, here's a link to the story.

Holy crap, that would be cool. Kinda strange though, considering that IMAX didn't really go over so big in Japan (the theatre in Tokyo ended up closing. I don't know how many remain in Japan)

This just aired on Sci Fi Channel. It's a weird movie but I looove the way they shot the 2 monsters in this one using night scenes and far away shots. I also dug those crazy animations.

Too bad the English dubbed version currently in circulation doesn't have the famous "Save the Earth" song. I still remember the hoots and howls from the kids in the audience when this opened in the US around 1976. I was one of them!

"Too much cobalt....in our mercury. Too many fumes in our Oxygen! Save the Earth! Save the Earth!"

To clarify....the English dub in the version shown on Sci-Fi and to be included on the DVD is not the same one that was made for the "Smog Monster" version.

Yes, unfortunately the AIP English dubtracks that many of us grew up with are not owned by Toho. That's why any officially licensed Toho release with an English track will only contain the blander English dub prepared by Toho. It's a shame, but on the other hand, these new discs are supposed to have Japanese language tracks, so I'm thrilled about that.

Yes, Kim's song Gigantic will be used in the scene when the big guy makes his first appearance.
